The ferry schedule for May 2025 will be released 2 months before the Spring schedule releases and only reservations for vehicles can be made. For 2025, this will be January 23rd! It is highly encouraged for guests who plan to drive onto the island to make reservations in advance, especially in May when the islands are quite popular. When looking at the ferry schedule, you are going to "pick up" the ferry in Anacortes (about a 90-minute to 2-hour drive from Seattle) and go to the last stop, which is Friday Harbor (San Juan Island). Some of the ferries to Friday Harbor stop at the other islands - you will see on the schedule which ones stop and which do not. You must arrive at the terminal no later than 30 minutes prior to any vehicle reservation. Remember to make the reservations for both directions so you have a ride off the island!

You do not need reservations for walking onto the ferry or biking on and you can leave your car (for a fee) at the ferry terminal parking lot.
